The Art of Inner Efficiency is brought to life through the integration of Neigong. With a calm mind one is able to penetrate and see deep within our universe. With a quiet mind, to listen to and to hear that which is being said; the teacher within will reveal the truth.
Neigong literally means “Internal Cultivation.” It is associated with the esoteric Taoist practices of Inner Alchemy, called Neidan. Neigong focuses on the transformation of Body, Mind and Spirit (the three treasures; Jing, Chi, Shen). The ancients referred to this process as “Six Transformations, Eight Methods” (Liu He Ba Fa).
Neigong is a subtle art of Mindfulness and Taoist Inner Alchemy. The combined practices of Meditation, Qigong, Tao Yin and Tai Chi evolve to the internal training of Neigong achieving an elevated state where all functions of the Body are governed by Mind and supported by Spirit.
Sincere and dedicated practice of Xin Fa or Mind Way, in the arts of Neigong, will lead to the highest levels of inner cultivation and transformation. The ancient Taoist referred to this as returning to the Source, the primordial unity of the Tao.
Neigong is the overarching concept of theory, principle and method inherent to the arts of Meditation, Qigong, Taiji, Tao Yin and Neigong. All of which are inter-connected by the very nature Neigong itself.
Neigong is also the principle and method designated to a particular subject of exercise, practice and form. The Eight Methods (chi, bone, feature, rise, return, restrain and conceal) are the practical application to a variety of exercises and are specific to the 6 Principles (body, mind, idea, energy, spirit, form and movement) which are inherent to the ovulatory process and of Six Transformations.
Initially, the focus is on the Six Combinations. At this base level, the practice of Qigong embraces the application of Eight Methods to prepare the body, akin to a vessel or cauldron, to combine the raw aspects of the 6 Elements. The Six Combinations are realized through the internal coordination of the body, mind, and idea; with that of energy, spirit-look, structure and form.
As the student develops, the focus progresses to the Six Harmonies. At this intermediate level, the practice of Tai Chi and the Eight Methods takes the alchemical process to a higher level; transitioning from the base level of combination, to the harmonization of the 6 Elements. The Six Harmonies are realized through the internal coordination of the body, heart-mind and intention; with that of chi-breath, spirit-observe, form and movement.
As the process evolves, the focus advances to the Six Transformations. At this stage, the practice of Neigong and the Eight Methods take the alchemical process to the advanced level; transitioning from the intermediate level of harmony, to the transformation of the 6 Elements. The Six Transformation are realized through the internal coordination of the body, mind-universal and will-nature; with that of breath-life force, spirit-gaze, movement-life source and space-Tao.
